Why a text blog in the year 2025?
A text blog. It’s so 1996. Fuck it. Get in, bitches, we’re going back 30 years.
The internet is dead anyway, right?
Absolutely fucking not.
Anyone saying that probably consumes most of their content from huge corporate aggregators like reddit, facebook, twitter, etc. who have agendas that don’t align with the human spirit. Who want to feed us ads every waking moment, nickel and dime us from birth to the grave, and divide us so we don’t rise up (while making us feel like we’re connected).
The centralized, corporate-owned web is dead.
The old web holds the answers. We need our own blogs again. Through tools like RSS we can aggregate the internet for ourselves again. Using webrings we can link up and introduce friends to each other again. And using newer decentralized web standards, we are free to say what we want, without worrying about upsetting Daddy Visa and Mama Mastercard.
Yeah we’re a bit more split up, and it’ll take some time, but we’ll find each other again. We always do.
My hope with this blog is to help others who want to get away from the chaos that is corporate-owned social media networks. Who want to learn to use tools that let them feel free, like others have done for me. If I can do that for just one person, it’ll have been worth it.
Welcome.
